Member Information

DONATIONS! NORA needs funds. Our original membership/support drive used most of the money during the construction phase. We have grounds maintenance and need some materials/equipment in order to accomplish our goals:

a wheelbarrow, rake, shove, hoe and an equipment building not to exceed 4'x8' with a closable door and with roof .

MEMBERSHIPS are encouraged at $10/year. Please help support your off-leash area. Send any donations to: B. Moseley, V.P. NORA, Inc., P.O. Box 7253, Arroyo Grande, CA 93421.

KIOSK:
  • Our display kiosk IS a reality. Two sided: one side for bulletins, etc. and the other side for honoring our supporters, donors, volunteers,
  • You may post lost/found dogs, puppies for adoption/sale, doggie events, stud service, and other related doggie news, services, etc.
  • RULES: Posted on the kiosk for you to review before you post an item on the kiosk.
  • COMMERCIAL ads by approval at a modest cost. Please contact B. Moseley at P.O. Box 7253, Arroyo Grande, CA 93421. NORA will gladly exhange ad space for volunteer work. Let us know your needs.
WATER is available in both areas. Please keep buckets clean and replaced as they wear out. Please do not let water run unneccessarily.

WEED CONTROL:  Volunteers again weed whacked 5/17/09 for the 3rd time this season. The foxtails are very invasive in Spring and help is constantly needed to clear the areas. The chips have not lessened the incidence of foxtails. We do the weed whacking every year and it usually requires 2-3 times.  Any ideas are welcome as are YOUR attempts at pulling them out, bagging them and placing bags in the trash cans.

The open, sandy area of doggies running between the trees and across from the main gate does not get the foxtails. We will try to leave that area open for running dogs.  Our thanks to SLOCO park rangers and volunteers.

Do you have an idea that would help us raise some funds? Let us know. Of course, we could use ideas and more volunteers.

Recent Events

This is the area where we would like to post the events that the dog park has participated in. If you have ideas for events, please contact us.

For the first few years, 2-3 persons volunteered to 'man' a booth at the October Festival in Nipomo Park. Due to lack of volunteers, the event has not been done in recent years.

If you'd like to have a fun day, meet lots of dog people, help children have fun at our doggie toss game, gather donations in our doggie jar, and just plain enjoy yourself, contact us soon.
